Bank of Ireland UK’s Intermediary Mortgages business unveils new online application system

Rome system set to make mortgage application and processing faster, more efficient and cost effective for brokers

Mortgage intermediaries are experiencing the benefits of Bank of Ireland UK’s new online application system for the first time this month, following a multi-million pound investment programme.

Built in collaboration with the broker community, the new system, named Rome, offers a host of tailored services. These include a case management and bundling system which allows all documentation to be pulled together in order to make managing cases easier and provides a suitable audit/compliance trail. Intuitive in its design the system is also believed to be one of the fastest available, with applications taking just minutes to submit.

One of the most exciting aspects of the system is a case messaging system – thought to be the first of its kind in the market – which allows brokers direct messaging access to the underwriter managing their case, helping avoid costly delays.

Speaking of the launch of the Rome system, Bank of Ireland UK’s Alison Pallett says the project forms a central part of the organisation’s growth agenda within the intermediary mortgage market.

“Rome was built in partnership with brokers, for brokers.

“We have made significant investment in this system because we understand that it is essential to harness new technology in order to offer swift decision making and seamless customer service as part of our strategy of building profitable partnerships.

“The opportunities presented by the new application are endless, as the flexibility of the platform enables us to build more functionality into the system over the coming months. We believe that this will help elevate our offering further above that of our competitors.”

Rome is being rolled out to Bank of Ireland UK’s partners over the coming months, while new distribution partners will also be offered access as standard.
