There are a number of ways you can pay in cash, both notes and coin, into your account. You will need your Bank of Ireland UK debit card, Cash card or Quick Lodge card for the account you want to pay in to or your pre-printed lodgement slip.
Timing of funds credited to your account will depend on how the cash is paid in to your account.
From 27 April 2023 – Changes when paying cash into your account at the Post Office®
- New limits will apply to the amount of cash you can pay into your account.

*The annual cash limit will be on a rolling basis. This will start from cash paid in from 27 April 2023 so it doesn’t matter how much you have paid in before this date.
- You will no longer be able to pay cash using a lodgement slips. To pay in cash at a Post Office® you will need the Bank of Ireland UK debit card, cash card or Quick lodge card1 for the account you want to pay into. Later in the year you will also be asked to enter your card PIN.
