How to register and get started

Activate your card

Once you’ve received your new Visa credit card, you’ll need to activate it before you can use it anywhere, including online. It’s important you do this as your old card will stop working within 30 days of you receiving your new one, irrespective of the date printed on the old card. Don’t forget, you should also sign the back of your card before using it.

There are three ways to activate your new card, so choose the one that’s most convenient for you:

  • Chip & PIN transaction or ATM balance enquiry

Make a Chip & PIN transaction, or head to an ATM to make a balance enquiry. Your PIN will be the same as the one for your previous card.

If you’ve forgotten your PIN, don’t worry, you can view it immediately in the app or online servicing. You can also get in touch with us to receive a PIN reminder through the post.

  • App & Online servicing

You can also activate your card in your app or through online servicing by going to the card section and selecting manage cards. Select the card you wish to activate, then enter the expiry date and CVV exactly as they appear on your new credit card. Then, select ‘activate card’. Watch the useful video below for help activating your card in the app.

IMPORTANT: You’ll need to make at least one Chip & PIN transaction before you can use your card to make a contactless payment.
