How to exercise your information rights, including the right to object

If you wish to exercise any of your data rights, you can:

If we are unable to deal with your request fully within a calendar month (due to the complexity or number of requests) we may extend this period by a further two calendar months and shall explain the reason why.

Please note before continuing with this request you should have your account or application information at hand.

The information you supply on this form will be used for the purpose of providing you with the service you have requested. By supplying your telephone number or email address, the Bank of Ireland UK can contact you in any of those ways in connection with this request.

To protect your data, Bank of Ireland UK will not process any Data Subject Request until we have verified you and any additional parties where required (for example, a joint applicant).

  • 4. Delete my data (also known as ‘The right to be forgotten’)

    You have the right to have personal data relating to you erased in certain circumstances, we may not be able to erase all your information as we may have a legal or regulatory obligation to retain it.

    If we cannot action your request, we will notify you in writing stating the reason why your request cannot be actioned.

  • 5. Restrict my data

    You have the right to have personal data relating to you restricted from processing in certain circumstances. In some cases we may not be able to restrict your information. If we cannot action your request, we will notify you in writing stating the reason why your request cannot be actioned.

    You have the right to object to particular uses of your personal data, doing so may have an impact on the services and products we can provide to you.

  • 8. Request a digital copy of my data - Portability

    You have the right to obtain a transferable copy of certain data which can be transferred to another provider. This is known as ‘the right to data portability’.

    This right applies where personal information is being processed based on consent or for performance of a contract and the processing is carried out by automated means. If we cannot action your request, we will notify you in writing stating the reason why your request cannot be actioned.

    Please note, you are not able to obtain, through the data portability right, all of the personal information that you can obtain through the right of access.
