Celebrating farming, food and future generations: Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend marks 15 Years
Thousands of visitors will once again step behind the farm gate this summer as Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend returns from 12 to 14 June 2026.
One of Northern Ireland’s largest free celebrations of farming and local food launches today, with the promise of a wonderful day out for all the family as the event marks its fifteenth year.
Organised by the Ulster Farmers’ Union, with Bank of Ireland returning as title sponsor, the eagerly anticipated Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend will see 23 working farms, across Northern Ireland, open their gates to school children, families, and the wider public.
Visitors will follow the journey from farm to fork, discovering where their food comes from and how farmers, including the next generation of young farmers, produce high-quality, sustainable food enjoyed by families across Northern Ireland every day. The weekend also offers hands-on experiences for young people, helping them connect with farming, food, and the rural environment in a fun and educational way.
Taking place from Friday to Sunday, Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend is excited to welcome visitors of all ages. It offers a unique opportunity to explore farm life, get up close to the animals, discover where food comes from, sample high-quality local produce and meet the farmers who make it all possible.
Speaking on Broughgammon Farm, Ballycastle, one of the host farms for 2026, Diane McCall, Senior Business Manager, Bank of Ireland UK, said:

From Ballygowan to Ballycastle, every farm has a story to tell, from families who have worked the land for generations to young farmers bringing fresh, new ideas to farming and women playing key roles in agriculture. Visitors can meet the farmers, hear their stories and see first-hand how they shape Northern Ireland’s important agricultural sector.
