Neurodiversity UK receive community funding from Bank of Ireland

Neurodiversity UK, a charity based in Comber, is among several community projects that will receive funding from Bank of Ireland’s Community Fund in 2026.

The bank has allocated £8,600 to Neurodiversity UK to provide community-based workshops across the Comber area for neurodivergent young people and adults, focusing on men’s mental health, confidence-building, social inclusion and peer connection.

Gail Goldie, Chief Executive Officer, Bank of Ireland, said:

Strong communities are founded on inclusion, opportunity and confidence. Through the Community Fund, we are delighted to support organisations that are playing a vital role in building a stronger, more resilient society.

Since its introduction in 2019, the Fund has provided vital backing to a range of organisations who are delivering tangible local impact. This year’s funding reflects a focus on ensuring more people feel included, supported and confident about their financial futures.

I wish Neurodiversity UK the very best as they develop the their community workshops programme.”

Speaking about the funding, John Kivlahan, Treasurer, Neurodiversity UK, said:

“This funding from Bank of Ireland is a vital boost for our community and will allow us to create safe, inclusive spaces where neurodivergent young people and adults, particularly men, can build confidence, connect with others and openly explore their mental health.

By bringing people together through shared experiences and practical workshops, we’re helping to reduce isolation, strengthen peer support, and empower individuals to feel understood, valued and more confident in themselves.

We’re delighted to have received this funding and thank Bank of Ireland for their support.”
