Northern Ireland’s first Banking Hub opens in Kilkeel

The first Banking Hub in Northern Ireland is set to formally open in Kilkeel this week. The hub which has been set up by Cash Access UK – a not-for-profit company designed to protect access to cash services established by nine major high street banking providers – including Bank of Ireland, will officially open its doors on Wednesday 6 December at 11.00am.

As a member of the hub, we will be offering a Community Banker service where customers can talk to us about more complicated issues, as well as a counter service operated by the Post Office where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions.

The Community Banker service will operate on rotation, with a different bank available on each day of the week. Bank of Ireland’s Community Banker will be in the hub each Thursday, but customers can use the hub for transactions any day of the week.

Ahead of the official launch of the new hub, Geraldine O’Hagan, Regional Branch Manager, Bank of Ireland UK said: “We’re delighted to see the first Banking Hub launch in Kilkeel and to play a part in delivering new cash services for the local community. We have a great team of Community Bankers who will be available to help customers with any queries they may have and we look forward to welcoming customers and the local community into the hub in the days ahead.”
