Bank of Ireland UK has opened its new flagship Belfast city branch at the bank’s prominent corner site at 1 Donegall Square South.

The branch is a modern, newly refurbished space with a self-service area, three kiosks that provide customers with enhanced privacy, as well as provision of phone and internet banking and internal lodgement ATMs. The branch has also been designed with a dedicated space to host customer, community and business events.

William Thompson, Head of Consumer Banking NI, Bank of Ireland UK said: “We are delighted to welcome customers to our new city centre branch in the heart of Belfast city. The new branch has been designed with our customers in mind, both in terms of its location and its new look and feel.

“We’ve designed the interior to ensure maximum privacy and space for customers using our B365 kiosk pods and ATMs. This is also our first branch in Northern Ireland to have digital display screens that provide customers with key information such as Covid-19 health and safety messaging and it is the first branch on the island of Ireland with our new Bank of Ireland branding.”

The location of the new branch combines the Bank’s retail presence with its Business Banking, Corporate Banking and Support teams in a single location, providing a highly-modern, collaborative environment for customers, colleagues and communities.

Michael Pucci, Belfast City Centre Branch Manager, said: “We work hard to meet our customers’ needs and to ensure we are providing the right balance between a great digital offering and face-to-face service. This new branch allows us to offer an enhanced customer experience and we are really looking forward to welcoming our customers along to experience everything the new location has to offer.”

Due to the impacts of Covid-19, the new City Centre branch opening hours are 10am – 4pm (closing for lunch between 12.30pm and 1.30pm) Monday – Friday.
