Bank of Ireland is urging music fans to stay vigilant against ticket scams

 


 

With sustained reporting of purchase scam, Bank of Ireland is urging customers to be extra vigilant when buying tickets for popular concerts and festivals this summer.

The warning comes ahead of Luke Combs’ sold out Slane Castle concerts on 18 and 19 July, with thousands of fans expected to attend the popular venue. Fraudsters are increasingly targeting fans through fake ticket listings on social media, online marketplaces and unofficial resale websites.

What to look out for:

  • Tickets being offered at unusually low prices
  • Pressure to act fast or pay immediately
  • Requests to move the purchase outside of an official ticketing resale platform
  • Sellers who can only provide screenshots as proof of purchase
  • Sellers unwilling to use official ticket transfer or resale facilities
  • Tickets advert or offers appearing on social media or through unsolicited messages.

Whether you’re looking for tickets for Luke Combs, Emerge or any other major events, take the time to verify who you are buying from and only use reputable, trusted ticketing or resale platforms. Taking the time to verify the seller could save disappointment and a financial loss.”

  • Buy only through official ticket sellers or verified resale platforms
  • If you think you’ve been targeted, contact your bank immediately. The bank can try to stop the fraud and potentially recover funds
