Lismore College Students Successfully Showed Their Smarts in 2025 Bank of Ireland Money Smarts Challenge
A team from Lismore College, Lurgan showed their Money Smarts as they placed 2nd in the 2025 Bank of Ireland Money Smarts Challenge.
This year’s Money Smarts Challenge saw over 1,700 students from 420 school teams across Ireland take part in four virtual events held earlier this year, with the Lismore College team of Adam Rennie, Ryan Robinson, Sean Rooney and Josh Matchett placing 2nd, and taking a cash prize for their school.
The Lismore College students, along with their teacher Emma McCourt, were presented with their prize at Bank of Ireland’s Lurgan branch by Cathy Strain, Senior Associate, Community Engagement, Bank of Ireland UK and Elisha McNulty, Community Engagement Manager, Bank of Ireland UK.
The Bank of Ireland Money Smarts Challenge is now in its 7th year. Money Smarts is Bank of Ireland’s free financial literacy programme for 2nd Level students, with an all-Ireland financial literacy quiz at the centre of the programme. The quiz is designed to help students learn about managing their finances and develop good Financial Wellbeing habits.
Presenting the team with their prize, Elisha McNulty, Community Engagement Manager Bank of Ireland UK said:
“I’d like to congratulate the winning team and teacher from Lismore College on their success in the 2025 Money Smarts Challenge. I also want to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of all the teachers and students who took part in this year’s Money Smarts Challenge and who have enhanced their financial literacy skills for the future.”
