Head of Business Banking Northern Ireland
Niall is responsible for leading and developing our frontline business banking team, maintaining its focus on helping customers thrive, managing and growing existing relationships and acquiring new business. Niall holds a BSc Hons degree in Finance from Queen’s University, and in 2019 graduated as a Certified Bank Director with the Institute of Bankers. He has over 18 years’ experience in financial services, having held a number of senior positions with Bank of Ireland across our Northern Ireland network.

Paul leads our Greater Belfast Business team of Senior Business Managers, Business Managers and Business Advisors, providing finance and Banking services to local business customers across all sectors. With 22 years’ experience, Paul has held a number of senior roles within Bank of Ireland in NI. A graduate of Queens University, Paul holds a BSc Economics and MSc Computer Science. As a Chartered Banker, Paul is immediate past Chair of the Institute of Banking Belfast Committee and Director of Belfast Chamber of Commerce. A keen golfer and a member of Clandeboye Golf Club, Paul also enjoys cycling and walking.
Senior Business Manager Mid-Corporate & Development Finance, Belfast
As Head of Mid-Corporate and Development Finance, Ciaran leads the team responsible for managing and growing Bank of Ireland’s Mid-Corporate and Property Development client base, in addition to building relationships with new customers in all sectors. Ciaran has worked in financial services for 17 years, the last eight with Bank of Ireland. Having held a number of senior customer relationship roles, he has the breadth of experience to support customers as they grow their businesses, and to help them face challenges that arise. Outside of work, Ciaran enjoys family time, travel and, when possible, a bit of football and golf.

Senior Business Manager
Over his 24 years with Bank of Ireland, Bernard has gathered considerable experience in several areas of banking within teams across Northern Ireland. Following 10 years as a Business Manager in Corporate and Business Banking, covering Greater Belfast, he was appointed Head of Newry Business Centre, tasked with managing a team assigned to developing business growth in the south of the region. Success in this role lead to Bernard taking a senior position in the Business Acquisition Team in 2012, with a focus on developing new relationships with the top SMEs across Northern Ireland.
Head of Regional Business Banking
Mark is responsible for our Regional Business across Northern Ireland, heading up teams in North West, Mid Ulster and Central South. In addition to acquiring new business, his role involves ensuring that existing business customers are getting the support they need locally, and at the high standard they expect from Bank of Ireland. Over a 25 year career with Bank of Ireland, Mark has held senior roles in a number of areas across Business and Corporate banking, Credit and Retail. Mark has also held senior positions in a number of external businesses in the Hospitality, Property, Healthcare and Retail sectors. Outside of work he’s a keen fan of football, an avid runner and a family man.
Senior Business Manager, North West
Based from Derry, Christine Graham leads our North-West team, which focuses on providing funding, supports and solutions to local SMEs in a variety of sectors. Christine brings a wealth of experience to the role having spent almost 25 years with Bank of Ireland, as well as several more in previous industry roles. She is a qualified accountant, holding a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from Queen’s University Belfast and a BA (Hons) in Business Studies from Ulster University. During her career, Christine has held several key positions with responsibility for leading and developing business teams, customer portfolios and risk and credit management. Christine is the Accounting Chair for the ‘Legenderry Relay for Life’ Committee, which has raised over £650k for Cancer Research UK since 2017. In her downtime, she enjoys travelling, family time and walking her two adored rescue dogs.
Senior Business Manager Mid Ulster
Leading the Mid Ulster Business team, Ian has responsibility for the management of a substantial portfolio of existing business customers and the active recruitment of new to bank customers. The team of experienced Business Managers & Business Advisors is responsible for identifying new lending opportunities for delivering funding solutions for business customers across a wide range of industry sectors. In addition they work at building strong relationships with intermediaries and professional advisors within the local business community. Previously Ian has held Senior Business Manager Omagh and Business Manager Mid – Corporate Business Banking with responsibility for relationship management of many leading NI businesses. Ian is a qualified chartered accountant having worked with KPMG before moving into Banking and joining Bank of Ireland Business Banking in 2008. Outside of work, Ian enjoys spending time at his local running club and participating in weekly park runs.
Senior Business Manager Central South
Diane has 21 years banking experience, having worked with Lloyds Banking Group for 11 years before joining Bank of Ireland in 2011. In 2018, Diane re-established the banks Business Banking team in Newry, growing the Bank of Ireland brand significantly since then. Now heading up Bank of Ireland’s Central-South business team, covering Lisburn, South Down & Co. Armagh, Diane and her experienced team support a portfolio of existing customers whilst actively pursuing new customers across all sectors. A Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland, Diane holds an MA (Hons) Economics Degree from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh.
Head of Commercial Finance
Liz has been with Bank of Ireland since 1999, having previously held business audit roles in Deloitte and First Trust Bank. With over 20 years of experience in providing working capital solutions, such as Invoice Discounting & Stock Funding, she was appointed Head of Commercial Finance in 2021. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants’ Ireland and a former Chair of the Ulster Chartered Accountants Students’ Society, Liz holds a Modern Languages Honours Degree from Queen’s University Belfast and a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from Ulster University. Outside of work, Liz is involved in a number of family history research and genealogy groups, teaches linguistics tutoring, is a Youth & Children’s Leader and regularly runs 5k.
Michael Mc Laughlin
Manager Business Direct Northern Ireland
Michael is responsible for managing a team of Direct Business Advisors providing funding and support to Small Business and Agri customers. He has over 23 years Business banking experience, with 10 years as Relationship Manager in Bank of Ireland Small Business Team before moving to Business Direct as Manager. Outside of work Michael is a keen Soccer player and coaches at his local GAA club.

Lisa is responsible for leading all aspects of the Bank’s capability to drive efficiencies and implement growth strategies within Business Banking. She has considerable and valuable experience in these areas, having held senior positions in our Strategic, Operational and Customer Relationship Management divisions. Lisa is a graduate of Queen’s University Belfast (BSc Applied Maths), has three children and enjoys walking to keep fit.
