Financial Wellbeing

Financial Wellbeing is about what you do with your pot of money, not the size of it. It’s about making sure that you can cover day-to-day expenses, plan for the future, and cope with the unexpected, enabling you to do the most with what you have.

At Bank of Ireland UK, we want to help you to manage your money with confidence. Our Financial Wellbeing Programme was designed to do just that, with three key elements to support our customers, colleagues and communities to make better financial decisions.

Our Financial Wellbeing Talks

Our Financial Wellbeing talks support our customers and communities in building their knowledge and capability to improve their financial wellbeing. Our talks can be delivered in local and corporate businesses through employee wellbeing initiatives, as well as in community groups and Bank of Ireland UK branches.

We offer a range of talks and clinics delivered by our local teams. Some of our most popular topics include:

  • An introduction to Financial Wellbeing
  • Getting ready to buy your home
  • Saving & borrowing responsibly
  • Talking to kids about money

Each talk can be delivered in a 25 minute session or merged with another topic for a deeper dive session. We are delighted to help and support with any wellbeing initiatives within your organisation from awareness weeks to charitable events.

Our Youth Financial Wellbeing Programme

Youth Financial Wellbeing aims to help young people understand money, so that they can make empowered decisions throughout life. Bank of Ireland UK have partnered with social enterprises throughout Northern Ireland to deliver financial education in the school setting, and have developed a number of at-home resources to support families and students taking that first step of learning money management.

For primary school children, our Talking Quids with Ollie magazine was developed to help children learn the essentials about money from an early age and includes discussion tips for teachers and parents.

For secondary school students, our Money Smarts Programme will be delivered in school with the chance to enter a competition to win some fantastic prizes for the school.

The Youth Financial Wellbeing Hub also houses articles, hints and tips for parents, teachers and students alike to begin their journey to financial confidence.
