Bank of Ireland Junk Kouture is Ireland’s leading fashion and art competition for post-primary level students. The art competition encourages students to create unique, original and innovative outfits using only recycled materials or ‘junk’.
Bank of Ireland is proud to have been involved in Junk Kouture since 2012. We’ve worked closely with the Junk Kouture team over that time and we have seen some really spectacular and awe-inspiring pieces grace the competition’s regional and national catwalks. Creations that wouldn’t look out of place on models in London, New York or Milan. It provides talented students with a unique opportunity to develop new design techniques, create innovative styles, and to hone their craft. It also provides them with the chance to meet others with similar goals and creates a positive synergy: infusing all with creative energy.
Bank of Ireland Junk Kouture can be incorporated into the Textiles and Fashion Design areas of the GCSE and A Level Art and Design syllabus.
